High Ham village 

The village is a beautiful place to explore. Below are just a couple of ideas;

1) Check out the play park by turning left out of the property, turning left at the village green so that the High Ham primary school is on your right hand side, keep following the road which has a slight decline then a slight incline until you come to a cross roads, you’ll see the village park complete with play area, basket ball hoop, swings, football pitch and a zip wire just ahead of you. Takes around 12 minutes to walk or 2 minutes to drive. 

2) Check out High Ham Millennium Wood; (5 acres of native woodland owned and managed by High Ham Parish council. Open all year. Free entry. Dogs on leads welcome). Address; Cooke’s Lane, Henley, High Ham, TA10 9BA. Turn left out of the property, walk past the farm on your left hand side, left at the village green so that the primary school is on your right hand side, turn immediately left signposted Millennium Wood. Takes around 25 minutes to walk or 5 minutes to drive. 

Langport - River Parrot

A quintessential Somerset town with lovely lunch spots and outdoor activities available. Great for a walk, bike ride or for paddle boarding. Wild swimming in the river has been recommended and enjoyed by some guests.

Sherborne

Hop over to Dorset to thebeautiful market town of Sherborne with superb Abbey and artisan market.

Outdoor Activities

Mendip Activity Centre is the most reputable outdoor activity provider in the South West. Activities ranging from tobogganing amongst other snow sports, frisbee golf, axe throwing to kayaking. You name it, they probably have it. An excellent location for large groups either adults and or children. 45 min drive.

Shopping

  • Closest town for small shops – Langport. Somerton also a lovely town with good pubs and quaint shops. 

  • The closest towns for some highstreet shops are Taunton & Yoevil both around a 30 minute drive.  

  • Clarks Village Outlet shopping village, Farm Rd, Street, BA16 0BB just a 15 minute drive.

  • Exeter and Bristol are excellent shopping cities.  Cabot Circus Bristol and Princesshay Exeter have shops ranging from Marks and Spencers to Harvey Nichols ideal for a spot of lunch and some retail therapy. Both an hours drive.
